BOLIVAR, Mo. - Chapel Banner\, a senior at Bolivar High School\, has been selected to receive a four-year Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship\, earning a place among approximately 100 students nationwide selected through the competitive Immediate Scholarship Reservation (ISR) pathway. Commander Lambert, Commanding Officer of Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Mid America, along with the Command’s Command Master Chief and Navy Recruiter NC1 McClendon, joined the Bolivar community at a school football game to recognize Banner’s achievement. Banner was hand-selected by the commanding officer following an interview and application process, highlighting the competitive nature of the scholarship opportunity. Banner’s achievement also carries a family connection to Navy service, as one of his siblings currently serves as a Sailor in the U.S. Navy. The four-year NROTC scholarship provides a pathway for students to pursue a college education while preparing for commissioned service as a Navy officer. NTAG Mid America congratulates Banner on this accomplishment and wishes him continued success as he prepares for the next chapter of his education and future naval service.
